Our desert
"The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones. You shall be like a watered garden." Isaiah 58:11

St. John's hosptial is unique in that they have scripture verses decorating the hallways. Today this one caught my attention. Like much of the midwest, Springfield has been in a drought this summer, our yard a dry brown. Imagine my surprise as I began to think on this verse and write this post that an unusual sound drew me to the window. It's raining!! Joy! God is satisfying the drought, and this gives me hope that He will also guide continually, satisfy our "desert", and strengthen Malcom's bones. It is the Lord who brings water to the thirsty, strength to the weak.

Please pray specifically for these things today:
...that Malcom's blood sodium level will increase. He has been on fluid restriction because it is too low.
...that the side effects from the chemo will be tolerable.
...that our church family in Taiwan will be strengthened and encouraged. (Saturday night in the central US is Sunday morning in Taiwan.)

Praise the Lord for
...loving family members who help us bear the load
...loving friends who travel many miles just to bring a word of encouragement
...our loving Lord who never leaves us nor forsakes us

Wow Aunt Carol. I could learn alot about faithfulness and trust in God from you and Uncle Malcom. When my mom told me about the petscan results, I was pretty upset. So, I went to my Bible and read in Isaiah 55. It says His ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts higher than our thoughts. God is certainly full of love and provision. From then on I just began to pray for Uncle Malcom, you, and the entire family. God gives the peace that can only come from Him. I love you, learn from you, and pray for you continually. Love, cheryl

Carol,
Orin's sodium was low at one point... we still enjoy the funny things he said.....just sharing that to tell you not to be disturbed if you husband is a bit disoriented... that is a side effect of low sodium..it will improve as his levels come up.. will pray , kathy from Girard

Carol,
We are continually praying for you and Malcom. It was good to see your Mom a few minutes and wave at Malcom this afternoon - about the time you were writing us your report. I am learning a number of things through your reports and comparing notes about things with my sister. It is a special - though differnt- kind of bond. I love you both.
Lovingly,
MaryN
